Well Known Perry Township Farmer Dies Suddenly
Jerome D. Gloyd, 76, prominent Perry township farmer on the Ft Wayne Auburn road, died suddenly of apoplexy while returning from the pasture. A former Allen County commissioner, he leaves a widow, three children Otis Estella and Mrs C E Moody, two grandchildren, two brothers Edward and George, and two sisters Mrs Hyndman and Mrs Sarah Fitch. He and his wife had visited his brother George Gloyd in Spencerville on Saturday. George is ill along with their sister. Gloyd was a devout M E Church member and former superintendent of Robinson Chapel Sunday School.

Former Springfield Township resident Mordecai Widdifield dies
Mordecai Widdifield a former Springfield Township resident died Monday at his son Mordie's home near Spencerville Indiana from apoplexy and old age at eighty five. He was a hardworking farmer who accumulated land and wealth and was held in high esteem. He leaves three sons Eugene Berton Mordie eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren plus many relatives. His wife and two children predeceased him. Funeral was Wednesday at the Harlan M E church with Rev E C Carrington and others officiating. Interment followed in Harlan cemetery.
