The Minneapolis Civic & Commerce Association plans a Trade Tour with 75 business leaders to visit Beach on Thursday May 22 at 1 p.m. The party will study Northwest labor conditions and seek solutions for farm help employment difficulties. The journey includes a modern all steel special train and a Regiment Band of the Minnesota National Guard.

Mrs Katie Staff hid in an unused water barrel to escape her enraged husband John Staff a prominent farmer ten miles north of Minot. He shot and instantly killed her about 8 oclock yesterday morning.

Six Year Old Boys Horrific Accidental Runover
A six year old, Wesley Meeker, was run over by a heavy packer pulled by a wagon near Beach Steam Laundry. He suffered deep cuts to the head and face and a badly cut left hand but no broken bones. He was taken to the city hospital for care. his mother was away tending a homestead when the accident occurred.

Beach establishes a regular fire department with a new constitution by laws and elected officers led by Chief R C Fuller and Asst Chief Chas Darrington. Three fire companies are organized Hose No 1 Hose No 2 Chemical Engine No 1 with total 20 members. Delegates to state meeting set for June 11 12 13 in Bismarck. A hose cart and 1000 feet of hose added, drills planned, first annual firemen’s benefit ball scheduled Thanksgiving.

City Orders Sidewalks Placed Along Numerous Blocks
