Two Boys Stranded on River Ice Race Against Death

Roy and Earl Harmon sons of J B Harmon attempted to cross a river by raft twelve miles south of Medora. Slush ice overturned their raft and the pair drifted twelve miles down stream calling for help as curious residents watched. They jumped ashore near a bend when the raft struck shots and endured cold winds without coats until rescue.

Krema dies of pneumonia at 57 near Golden Valley

Thomas Krema, a Golden Valley farmer with ten children and a wife, died Monday at his home south of town from typhoid pneumonia. He was 57 and had been among the valley’s first settlers from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held in the city and burial will be in Beach cemetery. The Chronicle extends condolences.

Farmers Co Operative Clubs Elect Officers At Sentinel Butte

The Golden Valley Farmers Co Operative Clubs held an adjourned meeting in Sentinel Butte on March 17 electing Fred A Powers as president F J Hill as vice president W F Lindsey secretary John G Odland assistant secretary and J M Still treasurer Local clubs will elect officers and a committee will draft by laws A plan for a central meeting hall was discussed and the group urged farmers to unite for national and state rights and a Chicago conference agenda was noted.
