Death on Train As Mrs Salzman Succumbs in Transit
The 35 year old Mrs. E. E. Salzman died on Northern Pacific train No. 2 near Jamestown from strangulation due to goitre while en route to Rochester Minnesota for an operation. She was accompanied by her husband and Dr L G Smith and died after Casselton. Burial followed in Carlock Illinois after the body was brought to Fargo for preparation. She leaves a husband a son Harley fourteen and a sister Mrs W D Artis of Beach.

Fargo contractor J H Leeby returns from Buffalo North Dakota where he won the Belfield bank building contract. S J G Moore of Buffalo serves as bank president. The Belfield bank will be among the most complete small banks with modern banking appliances. Construction starts soon and occupancy is planned by September 30.

District Court Adjourned After Short Term

Matinee Races Pleasing Crowd at Fair Grounds
A fine day drew a fair crowd for matinee races at the fair grounds Tuesday. The 2:30 pace and 3:00 trot filled with new entrants, led by Russian Bell Albert E and Highwood Boy in the pace and Rex Wilkes Daisy D Payrole and Smithtona in the trot. Next matinee is set for Saturday June 24. Karl F Kirchner and son Alvin from a nearby farm reported wheat promising at 30 to 40 bushels per acre after dragging 45 acres. fields look green and healthy.

Young Men Organize Bible Class at Calendar Hotel
About thirty young men met at the Calendar Hotel to establish a United Brethren church auxiliary class for Bible study and spiritual growth. Musical selections, a reading, and a solo preceded a banquet. Rev. Farmers Declare Big Dividend At Annual Meeting
Farmers Elevator Co stockholders met in Logan's hall to hear reports showing a year end May 31 surplus of 14500 dollars and a 100 percent dividend paid. Directors elected were E D Logan E E Noble J D Halstead Lewis Odland and A Powers. A reorganization into a bushel plan cooperative was discussed with June 27 as a planning date. Grace Walters expected home from Dillon Montana Normal for vacation.
