The Civil War veteran Alexander McCaskey aged 73 died of heart failure at his Kendal Wisconsin home last Saturday. He moved to Golden Valley four years ago to a claim near his son Roy, then returned to Wisconsin with his wife last fall due to ill health. Funeral occurred Wednesday morning as Mr and Mrs Roy McCaskey traveled to Kendal.

Woodmen Banquet Delights Guests In Woodhull Hall
About 100 members and guests attended a Woodmen of the World banquet and public installation in Woodhull & Singer hall last Tuesday night. Rev. W. C. The two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Harkins was bitten by a rattlesnake in their Ryegate Montana backyard. The snake struck the boy on the finger as he bent to pick up a hoe near the well. Mrs. Harkins scooped him up as the snake prepared a second strike. The child's life was despaired of for a time, but his recovery is expected.

Farm Home Consumed in Flames Near Beach
Last Monday evening about 6 oclock a fire broke out in the second story of the farm home of Mr and Mrs E H Hershberger four miles northeast of Beach. Firemen saved furniture and clothing but the frame house 16 by 24 feet was lost. The Hershbergs had been moving the Bert Covey farm house to their property and will occupy the new structure until a larger house can be built.
