Sunday services at Burkey church led by Rev Father Hierlmeier on December 19 follow the mass at the usual hour. Local news covers proprietor Chas Glatt of Modern Economy clothing in town, the German Lutheran Ladies Aid gathering, rail service complaints, a big wrestling match, moving plans, a missing girl case, a freezing Minneapolis laborer helped by Marshal Pickett, and plans for a moving picture show in Beach.
The city council met with Mayor Kellogg and all aldermen. Sidewalks were ordered along the burned district on First avenue. A petition for Blanche street sidewalks from the railroad crossing to the city limits was referred to Aldermen Harkins and Lovell. Geo S Chrysler of Wadena Minnesota asked a twenty year street lighting franchise and city light contract. ordinance passed first reading.
Peter Shea district organizer presided as No 112 of the Brotherhood of Owls organized at Artis hall Tuesday evening with about 125 charter members and 70 present despite bad weather. Officers installed include Jos Denoyer past executive E E Prehn executive Jos Haigh vice executive Edwin Gillis master Wm Rosenberg treasurer E E Noble secretary Geo L Krinke warden Frank Bissonnette sentinel Max Lewison trustees A B Kellogg Geo Elliott and Wm Rosenberg. A lunch followed and the rest of the evening included informal entertainment. Next meeting set for December 21.
