Medora officials and county leaders hire lawyers to challenge the Golden Valley Slope division vote. The suit cites irregular acts including blanket stickers, with key attorneys from Fargo Dickinson and Grand Forks. The case goals to void the November 8 results and will likely be heard in Medora early January.
A Mandan report notes a plan at the upcoming legislative session to create additional judicial districts in the southwestern and northwestern parts of the state. The proposal would place Bowman Billings Slope Golden Valley Adams and Stark counties in one district with Dickinson as the seat, Hettinger Mercer Oliver Dunn Morton in another, and McKenzie linked with Williams Divide and Mountrail for a northwestern district.

A near fatal crash occurred yesterday evening between Near and Woodhull additions when John Michaels in a Brush land Beach Implementor’s machine collided head on with another vehicle. Both drivers and passengers were thrown clear. Michaels suffered the worst injuries but had no broken bones and recovered consciousness after a few hours. The other occupants escaped serious harm as well.
A man described as 29 though seen as 25, recently from Oregon with government land grant, remained unknown in Fargo after a notebook with a recent message raised suicide questions. Police weigh extent of insurance policy timing and the likelihood of self-inflicted death.

The census release shows North Dakota’s population rising from 257,910 to 577,056 in ten years, an 80 percent gain. Billings County shows a notable rise to 10,186 from 675, with state ranking fifth in growth among states. The Dakota increase may yield one more U S congressman for both North and South Dakota.
August W Pippert a former Square Deal bakery employee from Beach North Dakota was killed Saturday near Fargo on the Northern Pacific tracks when he walked between the engine and first car. His body was sent to Beach for relatives. a notebook and personal items were found on him and insurance records noted.
