Beach Athletic Club Forms For Local Gymnasium
The Beach Athletic Club organized with temporary officers Chas Carrington president and Gus Johnson vice president. Dues start at 5 dollars for one month of apparatus use. permanent dues to be set later. The group seeks Logan’s Hall as quarters and plans a top regional gym. A corn contest at Sentinel Butte drew 401 entries with 401 exhibits. top prizes awarded to Earl Madson and Ella Schlewitz with 25 and 20 dollars respectively. Twenty others won 5 dollars, and many more received 1 dollar or 50 cents. Seven prize winners from Miss Lizzie Wienkes’ school earned premium trips to the Agricultural College at Fargo with instruction and travel included.

Holstein Ulfers Nuptials at Duck Creek Farm
Miss Elizabeth Rose Ulfers and Charles C. Holstein married Wednesday at 11 30 a m at the Ulfers home. Rev Charles M Good performed the ceremony. A wedding dinner followed for 25 relatives and friends. The couple will reside at Duck Creek farm, owned by the groom’s father, for the coming season. Both are Illinois natives who settled in the Golden Valley and plan to make it their home. Many gifts were given to the couple for health happiness and prosperity.

Depot Electrics Brighten Exchange and Depot Space
Electric lights were installed in the depot last week. Workers praise the change as the draughty depot now holds oil lamps poorly when windows open. A switchboard in the office controls the system and platform illumination is expected by week’s end to curb accidents. Early morning hours later saw the area brilliantly lit for about two hours until embers remained.
Kukowski not selling farm in Golden Valley
reports circulated that A. 2. Kukowski sold his farm southeast of town but he is buying more land instead and plans to continue farming in Golden Valley. He produced 9 000 bushels of grain including flax last year, invested over 9 000 in buildings and 11 000 in machinery, and is negotiating for more land to crop next year.
