Elks Plan Three Story Building On Linsley Corner

Elks lodge members plan a three story building on Linsley corner to cover the full 50 by 141 foot lot. Ground floor options include a 50 by 141 foot store or a 40 by 50 foot store facing south with the main store 50 by 100 feet. The lodge hall will occupy an entire floor, likely the second or third, with one floor reserved for banquet rooms club and reading rooms.

Close Call With Coal Gas At M Egan Household

The M Egan family faced potential death from coal gas after Mr M C Egan detected gas in the room with the heater. He collapsed twice and was rescued to fresh air while John Egan and niece Miss Josie Sifert were affected but recovered later the same day. Narrow Escape After Runaway Buggy Demolished

Paul Sloss and his three children escaped injury when a frightened team galloped down Blanche Street after an auto startled them. The buggy overturned at Golden Valley Bank, occupants uninjured, team halted near Lovell's corner after a horse slipped. The buggy was badly damaged. Bruley returned from Beach last Saturday. Medora Prisoners Have Lively Time

In Medora North Dakota on December 21 Charles Lee started a fire by striking a lighted match while seeking honest insects. The blaze damaged tapestry and bric a brac while five prisoners escaped suffocation as doors were locked and windows frozen. Lee and a sleeping cellmate extinguished the flames with water soaked bedding and smoke filled the room without serious injuries.
