A daylight burglary near Glen Rose targets the O. B. Brown residence at Nemo between 11 30 a m and 3 15 p m. Items taken include an electric drill sport coat clocks jewelry neck lace two silver dollars a camera and a crystal pin. Sheriff Strawn said the investigation continues.

Somervell Countys long time resident Mrs. J B Odom celebrated her 95 active years with a WSCS luncheon at First Methodist Church. Born February 29 1872 in Kentucky she lived in Meridian Clifton and Dallas before settling in Glen Rose. She and her late husband ran a drug business and Odoms Tourist Camp later Johnny's Courts. She has two sons Joe and Waldo and a daughter Margarite Neatherlin.
Forty four hunters captured 250 rattlesnakes during Walnut Springs first rattlesnake hunt drawing about 2000 visitors. The event featured an albino rattler and 14 trophies sharing $205 among top winners led by J E Lane J C Lavendar and Sam Rasneck.
Benny Nickell and Neil Gibson received top honors at the 12th annual Optimist All-Sports banquet held at Glen Lake Methodist Camp with about 250 attendees. Nickell earned the Pat Wachsmann award as outstanding athlete while Gibson won the Optimist Youth Award as a top junior high student and citizen. Tom Voss was celebrated for his youth service.
