Mrs. Oran Page of Nemo shows a 45 lb drum caught at Rock Port. The fish measured 45 inches long and, after landing it, she called her husband to help pull it out.
Rev George Greebon replaces Rev R E Briggs as pastor of the First Methodist Church. He previously served over three years at Line Street Methodist Church in Hillsboro. More details to follow next week. Mrs G T Pound and football coach James Willingham, both High School teachers, are attending TCU this summer for graduate work.

The Spiritual Singers from Southwestern Christian College Terrell Texas will appear at the Church of Christ in Glen Rose at 8 p m on Wednesday night June 22. The group, noted for hymns and spirituals, has performed before millions across the United States and in Canada and are radio and television artists. The public is invited with no admission charge.
Texas and other states launch a 101 day traffic safety drive from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The campaign warns speed kills and urges every motorist to join the effort to prevent crashes and protect innocent drivers. The message centers on personal responsibility behind the wheel.
Verna Faye Summers has been in Will Rogers Hospital at Saranac Lake for the past two years and has now fully recovered and is enjoying good health at home.

Attendees included multiple couples and their children enjoying dinner and fellowship.

McConal School defeated Methodist Church 7 to 4 while Rives Cafe overwhelmed Recreation Hall 13 to 3 in the opening softball night. Gaining multiple hits were Wallace McPherson Jimmie Branham and William Wood for McConal with Stout collecting 3 hits for Methodist Church. Dav id Garris led Rives Cafe with two hits in the Major League game.
A girl named Serena was born to Mr and Mrs Marvin May in Newellton Louisiana on Saturday June 4 at 3:30 PM. She weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs Vivian May.

Patrolmen of the Ft Worth District of the Texas Highway Patrol contacted 2851 traffic law violators in May. Captain Jack Sutherland reports 819 arrests and 2032 warnings for State Traffic Laws. Speeding led arrests, followed by improper passing and wrong side of the road. Somervell County is among 13 counties in the district.
