Wind Storm Causes Severe Damage Across Area
A wind gust above 70 mph struck last Saturday morning, uprooting trees and wrecking television aerials. Dr. E. R. Pate suffered the worst damage when a tree collapsed on his yard, snapping guywires, breaking the aerial, and sending its pipe through the living room ceiling as 0.65 inches of rain soaked floors and furniture, with total damage near 2500 dollars.
Bible Conference by Primitive Baptists at Mt Zion Tabernacle
The seventh annual Western States Bible Conference will be hosted by the Primitive Baptists at Mt Zion Tabernacle on the hill. It begins next Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock June 28 and runs through Friday noon July 1. Three services daily at 10 am 2:30 pm and 8 pm. Public invited to attend.

New Pastor Welcomed By Methodists
Rev G M Greebon delivered his first sermons to the First Methodist Church in Glen Rose as neighboring churches united to honor the new pastor. He hails from Line St Methodist in Hillsboro and has served at Wesley Church in Wato Diamond Hill Fort Worth and Central Methodist in Mineral Wells. Mrs Greebon is conference director of children's work in the Central Texas Methodist Conference. The couple has two children, Bobby George and Mrs James L Carr.

Beds Purchased For County Red Cross Aid Fund
Somervell County buys two complete hospital bed units for public use financed by gifts from Glen Rose residents and county citizens. The Red Cross aided the purchase. Three committeemen Joe Smith and Edgar Ware among them will manage the beds. By week’s end the fund aims to total 224.45 dollars with special thanks to Edgar Ware for coordinating contributions.
