Pre Schoolers Register for Six Week Summer Program
The local school opened six week summer instruction for 31 pre schoolers taught by Mrs. Karl Booker and Mrs. Arthur Vineyard. Classes run Tuesdays to Fridays 9 to 11 a.m. with participation from named students. The school library will also be open for community school age children 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Mrs. Wendell Rozelle announced the school library is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 to 11 30 a m for six weeks. Books are available to first graders through high school classes as well as adults, inviting readers to check out titles for pleasure.

Cemetery Seeks More Monies for Pavilion Roof

Local Collision Causes Heavy Damage at City Corner
About 9 a.m. Saturday, two vehicles collided at Walker and Jefferson Streets. Mrs. Jerry Osborn backed from a driveway into a 1965 Dodge pickup driven by Charles West with Larry Cox aboard. Sheriff Strawn cited Mrs. Osborn for failure to yield and valued pickup damage at 500 dollars and her Falcon at 800 dollars.

The FFA rodeo in Cleburne drew a capacity crowd Saturday night with over 1,000 fans and contestants. Winners included high point school Cleburne High School, runner up Stephenville, and third place Glen Rose, with a full list of victors across bareback riding barrel race chute dogging ribbon roping wild cow milking goat tying and hide race.

Tax Assessor-Collector C. M. Speck Strawn said auto registrations are running well ahead of last year. He noted that collections did not exceed 50 000 until July 31, 1969, when the total reached 50 025.86. By Friday of last week the collections stood at 50 284.30.
