Hulsey Home Burns in Saturday Blaze
The home of Mrs. El Hulsey burned to the ground last Saturday morning. Mrs. Hulsey was inside but rescued by neighbors. Son Willie Hulsey was away. Fire reported to have started from an overheated stove.
Community School Organization Meets In Auditorium
The Community School Organization met Monday night in the auditorium with Mrs. Tom Voss presiding. The third grade presented Indian dances. Supt. Inter est wedding in Glen Rose unites Miss Swinney and Pf Dempsey

Poll taxes paid in county with final date looming
About 200 poll taxes have been paid in the county by Tuesday night. The final payment date is Thursday January 3. This year’s elections include a special Senatorial race, mayor and council, school board, and any other specials that may be called. Better pay it today.
Daughter for Ketron family in Cleburne
Mr and Mrs Kenneth Ketron announce the birth of a daughter named Lou Beth born Friday morning January 18 at Cleburne Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds 7 and 3/4 ounces. Midland Couple Wed at Snyder First Methodist Church
Sonja Ruth Bunt of Midland and E L Cooper Jr of Midland were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday in Snyder First Methodist Church. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Bunt, is a Midland High School graduate and works as a secretary for Sinclair Oil. The groom, son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Cooper of Teague, is a 1949 Teague High School graduate and a 1956 Sam Houston State College BS in journalism graduate, employed as industrial publication editor for Shell Oil. The ceremony was officiated by Rev J L Hester with Willard Eaton’s sister as soloist. The reception was hosted at the Eaton home.
