A gas line break north of Glen Rose strands a Glen Rose cop at the scene. Crews from the transmission division cut through rough terrain to reach the break around the welding area.
Lone Star Gas crews faced subfreezing weather and rugged terrain to repair a ruptured 6 inch pipeline four miles north of Glen Rose. Within 24 hours service was restored to all but 10 customers as dispatchers curbed southward gas use and re routed supply from the south.
Mr and Mrs A E Porter to celebrate fifty years of marriage with open house at the W E Porter residence in Glen Rose Texas on Sunday January 21 1962. William E Porter and Minnie Amarenthia Shirley married January 21 1912 near Keene Texas. most life in Somervell County. Porter served as Glen Rose Postmaster for 24 years retired Feb 28 1958. Friends invited to visit between 2 and 5 Sunday to extend congratulations.

Graveside services for Mrs. Phoene Booker Campbell of Rotan were held at Squaw Creek Cemetery after a 10:30 a.m. funeral in Rotan. Rev. John Wheat of Glen Rose Baptist Church led the service. She was a sister of Miss Nell Lorena and Moody Booker of Glen Rose and had been ill briefly. Pallbearers included Bill Porter, A. N. Newman, Temple Summers, Red Tillman, Eben Kirk, and Earl Jackson.
Mr W J Neely of Wellington Texas died Saturday January 13 after a long illness. He was the father of Mrs A D Wood of Glen Rose. Burial services were held Monday January 15 in Quail Texas.
H L Brown 73 of Morgan died after a heart condition while at the First National Bank in Glen Rose last Thursday January 11. He had been treated for the ailment for some time.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Ratliff of Cranfills Gap Texas celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on January 21. The reception runs from 1 00 to 5 00 PM at First Baptist Church in Cranfills Gap. Friends are invited. Mrs Ratliff was Linda Jane Million before marriage.
The Glen Rose Masonic Lodge No. 625 will serve light refreshments February 10, 1962 starting at 7 30 P M. The meeting begins at 8 00 P M with the gavel handed to visiting dignitaries who will present a program. All Master Masons invited.

Six FFA officers and their Vocational Agriculture teacher W B Cowan Jr attended the Lake Whitney District Officers Training School on Monday January 15. Attendees from Glen Rose included President Gary Westmoreland Secretary Tim Stewart Reporter Chuck Gibbs Sentinel Russell Hawkins Ronnie Shackelford Student Advisor and Ronald Sexton Chaplain. The group learned duties of office and leadership tips to improve performance.
