Four Year Old Killed in Bellevue Auto Crash
A four year old Bellevue girl died when a relative driven car struck a horse and plunged down a 135 foot embankment. Marie Fuller died at the scene while Juanita Malone and Keir Malone suffered injuries and were hospitalized. Funeral services for Shana Marie Malone were held in Dallas with interment at Grove Hill.

A fund at First National Bank in Glen Rose was established for the James Broadway family to cover medical costs after a front end loader accident. By Tuesday donations reached 199.90 from many local residents and groups including the Jaycee Chapter and multiple individuals. Broadway remains in critical condition at a Fort Worth hospital with multiple serious injuries.

Marion Porter Named SCS Post Leader in Terrell
Marion S Porter, Project Coordinator with the Soil Conservation Service, is transferred to Terrell to become area conservationist of Area 11 and oversee SCS operations of nine field offices and two sub-offices effective December 9. A Waelder native and Texas A&M graduate, he built a long career in SCS from trainee in Stephenville to project coordinator and civic leader locally.

Hewlett Rites Held Saturday
Funeral services for PFC Stephen Randall Randy Hewlett 20 were conducted in Reyno Funeral Chapel with Father Humé Reeves and Hubert Taylor officiating. He died Monday in Tustin California from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sunday. Hewlett was born April 22 1953 in Lab and was the son of Jim Hewlett of Granbury and Patricia Lakas of York City New York. He was a graduate of Cien High School and attended Texas A&M University before joining the Army. He served in the 1st Corps and had ties to Pensacola Florida and Christopher Episcopal. Survivors include sisters Jeannine and Ann Lalas of New York.
