Two Christmas events in Glen Rose kick off this week. The Ninth Annual Christmas Pilgrimage of Homes raises funds for needy children and features six homes starting at 7 p.m. Attendees pay 1.00 at the door and may begin at Tom McCann Danny Butler Ray Vaughn Bob Allen Bill Pruitt or George Crump homes with a stop at Fellowship Hall First United Methodist. Saturday 7 to 10 p.m. brings Mrs. R L Flippin’s 19th Annual Christmas Open House at her Rainbow county farm home inviting all to visit and enjoy handmade decorations and hospitality.

Christmas Program at CSO Meeting Monday Evening
Mrs Frank Laramore announces the Community School Organization meeting Monday at 7 p m. Second Grade students will present the Christmas program and new CSO handbooks will be distributed. The Spring Festival is the main business topic and final plans are needed before the March meeting. All members and residents are invited.

Glen Rose-Somervell Fire Dept Elects 1974 Officers
The Glen Rose-Somervell County Volunteer Fire Department elected Dwain Sandlin as chief and Charles Marsh as assistant chief for 1974. John Parker is secretary, Eddie Stroud treasurer, Danny Butler marshal, and captains are Jerry Parr Harold Smith and Bud Douglas. The group held its annual Christmas dinner at Glen Lake Methodist Camp dining hall with over 50 attending.

Fire destroys Orr's Laundry and damages adjacent shops
A Thursday night blaze at Orr's Laundry and Dry Cleaners destroyed the frame building and its contents. The neighboring Bobbie's Beauty Shop and living quarters also suffered heavy damage. Loss estimated at 40,000 dollars. Firefighters prevented spread to the rest of the block. two firefighters treated for smoke inhalation and later recovered.

Bloodmobile Visit Planned by Carter Bank at Local Church

Rainbow Church Plans Christmas Music Program
The Rainbow Baptist Church choirs totaling 80 members present a Sunday evening program of Christmas music at 6 30 featuring adults teens and children from Beginner Choir ages four and five and the Adult Choir performing John Petersons King of Kings.
