The Post Oak area saw heavy weekend rain totaling up to 4 inches in spots. National Weather Service observer Robert Mack logged 1.73 inches Friday and Saturday, plus .57 Monday night, for a 2.30 inch total, with 4 inch hail near homes of L. P. Jones and Jack Bridges Sr. farm roof damage. Lightning and wind twisted a television antenna at Lawrence McCoy and four feet of water filled stock tanks on Logan Walker’s ranch in Eulogy. Moisture this month was .01 inches, yearly total 4.25 inches.

Social Security Office Moves to Community Center in Glen Rose

Plans Set for Tourist Opening Weekend in Glen Rose
Glen Rose and Somervell County prepare a busy opening of tourist season featuring Oakdale Park events, mule and horse races, a junior rodeo, and a town parade. A rally at Oakdale Park attracts 200 plus camping units with a poolside welcome and an art show. Racing at Dinosaur Downs begins 1 30 p m with mule and quarter horse events, followed by a downtown parade at 4 30 p m and a junior rodeo at Dinosaur Arena at 8 30 p m. Time changes Sunday am as daylight saving starts
Daylight Saving Time begins next Sunday at 2:00 a.m. national clocks move forward one hour and stay on summer time until next October. The shift adds an extra hour of daylight for sportsmen gardeners and outdoor activities.
Notaries Must File New Bonds for 1971 73 Term
