More than 300 seniors attended Louisiana State Fair Senior Citizen Day with Sam Tousley of Olla and Fannie McKinley of Shreveport as the eldest. Tousley won a butterfly collection championship and the most ribbons among men. In Tyler, Fred Loyd Hayes’s new trial hearing was postponed after a key witness failed to appear, with charges including illegal possession of firearms and a 1970 Longview bus bombing link. Mt. Longview's Fred Boatner elected president of Cherokee Water Company. lake manager applications open and a new office building planned. Stephen F. In compliance with regulations for hospital accreditation a Monday night disaster drill was conducted by employees and staff at Gladewater Municipal Hospital and the Gladewater Ambulance Service with assistance from the operation.

Bells Ringing Ceremony Celebrates Innovative Wedding

New York AP reports a Hippie style wedding at St Clem ents Church where bells rang throughout the service. The couple, both marriage counselors, wrote the ceremony and invited guests to ring bells symbolizing life. The bride teaches pastoral counseling and the groom has married many couples. The celebration featured guest participation and flowers handed upon entry, seen as a memorable group experience.
