Longview YMCA Announces Two Art Courses This Fall
The Longview YMCA starts two art classes, Figure Drawing and Head Drawing, the week of October 29. Benny Alford will teach both courses at the 1230 South High facility, with a public display of his works and students’ pieces open daily noon to 8 p.m. Enrollment details are posted at the YMCA or by phone. The program is part of a broader community support effort linked to the United Fund.

Chiquita Armstrong to marry Steve Fogleman this October
Miss Chiquita Armstrong and Steve Fogleman plan to wed Saturday October 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Gladeview Baptist Church with a reception in the social room. The couple and families invite friends to attend. Armstrong is the granddaughter of Clyde V. Allen and Mrs. Allen, a Kilgore College alumna and Municipal Hospital employee. Fogleman is the son of J O Fogleman of Lake Charles Louisiana, a Kilgore College and McNeese alumnus, currently serving in the US Army in Germany.

NASA eyes Kohoutek comet with record viewing array
NASA plans an aerial, orbital, and ground campaign to study Comet Kohoutek this winter using visible ultraviolet and infrared instruments. The 20 to 30 kilometer nucleus may outshine the full Moon, with a tail stretching up to 160 million kilometers after sunset around New Year.
