Former Gladewater High School students plan a two day Bicentennial reunion on May 29 30 with a May 19 barbecue and street dance at Glade Tennis and Swim Club. Organizers seek class chairmen volunteers and addresses for 1956 graduates to notify all ex students. Harrell Reynolds donated artwork to fund a $500 scholarship for a Gladewater senior.

Abernathy faces DWI charge in Tyler court
Curtis Quentin Abernathy of Gladewater is charged with driving while intoxicated in Tyler in Smith County Court at Law. DPS reports say he drove east in a westbound lane on Loop 323, failed to stop for flashing lights, and was later released to the Gregg County authorities for handling.
