The Gladewater Chamber of Commerce announced 1969 70 year committee chairs at a noon meeting led by Mack Wiley. New growth plans include two boat companies two nursing homes a cement firm and a Goodrich store. Several vice presidents chair multiple committees including Industrial Development Public Streets Water Development and Information and Public Relations.

Gladewater to Get New Hot Mix Asphalt Plant

Gregg Asphalt Co plans a Barker Greene plant on 10 acres behind the City Ball Park in Gladewater with 120 to 150 tons daily capacity and a 4 000 ton per run, costing about 250 000 dollars. Site on city land leased for the project, with operation targeted by July 1 and rail siding prospects discussed with Texas and Pacific Railroad.
