Jimmy Rex Dockery of Logansville Georgia, 16, drowned at Gladewater city lake around 3 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said he was about 150 yards from shore in deep water, called for help, then disappeared as a rodeo party looked on. Acquaintances noted a possible muscle cramp as rescuers searched murky water.

Casting for Gladewater spectacular Thursday night
The cast auction for the Gladewater spectacular From Tilling the Soil to Producing the Oil will be Thursday at 8 in the high school fine arts building.
