I Remember Hankinson and Fairmount North Dakota
Veronica Oshman recalls living in Hankinson ND until age 100 then moving to Fairmount ND. She notes changes such as no German spoken by youth, absence of hitching posts and lamplighter, and memories of daily lamp cleaning and shared bath water. She recalls World War I marching soldiers with pride and asks for local donations to The Old Timer column. The beluga sturgeon note seems unrelated to the personal reminiscence.
