Rodeo Weekend Thrills Crowd At Gladewater Round-Up
The 32nd annual Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo drew large crowds for three nights of action at the all steel arena. Marvin Holmes of Pickens Oklahoma won the Jack Yates Silver Spur Award for sportsmanship. Officials announced a mobile chest X ray clinic for Gladewater school employees on June 16 with priority to staff and a $3 fee.

The Lamont Oklahoma graduate 1968 enlisted in the Marines in 1968 and served with the First Marine Division. He died May 27 near Da Nang from wounds received on an ambush patrol. His letter to his parents expresses faith in freedom and a wish for his nephew Randy to become a Marine.
