Bowie family proves education worth the struggle
Jim Bowie and his wife Ula Mae raised six children on a janitor’s wages in Texas. All six became college graduates through hard work, scholarships, and strict house rules that valued high school education and college careers. The Bowies stressed perseverance and belief that education serves humanity and future opportunities.
