The Gladewater Public Library opens its annual summer vacation reading program with registration on Monday and a year theme Read for the Red White and Blue. Teen program starts Tuesday at 1 p.m. Puppets in action by Charline Walker will entertain with Mr Owl's Advice. Gifts from Friends of the Library members Charline Walker and family noted. Miller Rites Held Friday
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Miller 93 longtime East Mountain resident were held Friday at 4 p.m. at East Mountain Baptist Church with Rev L Aubrey Poe officiating. Burial followed in East Mountain Cemetery. Miller known as Uncle Joe died Thursday morning in Longview after a long illness. Born Jan 10 1876 in Alabama he was a retired farmer and charter member of East Mountain Baptist Church. He is survived by son L B Miller Texarkana two daughters Mrs Roy Brown Texarkana Miss Katherine Miller Gladewater three sisters Mrs J A Tyler Marshall Mrs Leonard Shelton Gilmer Mrs Ira Young Fort Worth seven grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
