Snakebite first aid urged by San Antonio doctor
Dr. Thomas G. Glass Jr argues cold ice packs and light constriction bands are safer for venomous bites than cutting. He notes three in ten bites lack venom and promotes rapid transport to medical care, with San Antonio EMS adopting his methods and Amerex Labs selling a Snakebite Freeze kit. He warns laymen against unprofessional cutting and endorses careful, field procedures.
