Parks and Wildlife reviews Mustang Island ruling and highway swap
The Parks and Wildlife Commission asks the Attorney General to reconsider a May ruling that a 1970 contract to buy 3,965 acres on Mustang Island for park use is a binding obligation. Texas lawmakers steer a downtown Austin land swap, moving a proposed Highway Department headquarters elsewhere. Game wardens will halt enforcement near the Sabine River mouth amid a disputed boundary with Louisiana.
