Gregg County Sets Revenue Sharing Used for Capital Projects
Gregg County plans to spend Revenue Sharing Funds from January 1 to June 30, 1973 on capital expenditures. Major items include a Health Unit facility at about 100000 dollars plus 25000 dollars for equipment, land and equipment for a county landfill at 24085 dollars, and 125000 dollars for repairs and remodeling of county buildings with 60 percent for remodeling and 40 percent for equipment. A microfilming program for county records is started with 50000 dollars, 40 percent for equipment and 60 percent for contracting the microfilming of old records.

Auto crash claims life of U S student in Gilmer
A two car crash at the Titus Cass Street intersection in Gilmer Saturday evening killed 17 year old Mark Donald Watts, a Mings Chapel youth. Driver Edward Downing, 33, of Tyler, was hospitalized in undetermined condition.
