Old Ben Milam Hotel unveils lobby mini museum
The Houston Old Ben Milam Hotel promotes a new lobby mini museum featuring the William A. Philpott Jr Texas documents collection the Waldo E. Bugbee Railroad Bell Collection and an antique clock and furniture display. The brochure notes photographs hotel rooms health club pool and dining facilities plus a map of downtown Houston. The hotel opened 1926 and plans a Bicentennial Year 1976 anniversary. General manager La Moyne B. Boren. Flyers available free by mail. Upshur County Announces New Conservation Cost Share LTA
Upshur County landowners may sign up for a new Long Term Agreement with the Department of Agriculture. The July 1 to July 15 1975 window requires a conservation plan and SCS technican input. The 3 to 10 year program funds all practices with 13423 available this year, else redistributed. Last year Upshur lost 6747 LTA funds to other counties due to nonuse.
