Gladewater Municipal Hospital approves business offices expansion
The Gladewater Municipal Hospital board unanimously approves expanding the business offices with plans to hire an architectural firm. The motion, led by outgoing chair Gordon Mayer, also notes possible addition of four patient rooms later. New staff changes include Lorena McChesney as public relations director and Paul Bennett as administrative assistant. New officers for 1975-76: Carson Kennedy chair, Raymond Allen vice chair, David Holcombe treasurer.

Funeral services for James Blakey Moss Sr. 78 of 309 N Main St were held at 4 p m Saturday at Malcolm Stone Funeral Home Chapel. He died Friday at home. Officiant Murphy Phillips Jr. Interment Katy Oklahoma. Born in Arkansas 1897 Moss lived in Gladewater since 1930 a World War I veteran. retired from Magnolia Oil. Survived by wife Archie son J B Moss Jr brothers T D Moss Rubin Moss sisters Eunice Hudson Hazel Carter and three grandchildren. It’s Grandaddy and Grandmother R S Daniel now.

Sixty Years Foy and Mary Shepperd Toast July 4
Foy Shepperd and Mary Olivia Ganns mark 60 years of marriage with a July 6 reception in Gladewater hosted by their families. The couple met in Okmulgee 1920 while Foy worked for Cities Service Oil, later joining General American Oil and retiring in 1967. Attending relatives include 14 grandchildren and one great grandson, with several Shepperd siblings noted among 12 children from the union.

Death of Mary McDonald from leukemia in Galveston
Mary Margaret McDonald 14 died at 5 am Friday at John Sealy Hospital Galveston after a long illness. She was a Gladewater pupil until illness began two years ago and spent much of the past year in hospital. Funeral 2 pm Monday at Rader Chapel Kilgore with burial Mixon Cemetery near Troup. Survivors include parents Gladewater residents now of Kilgore two sisters Mrs Barbara Foreman of Camden Illinois three brothers Robert in U S Navy Corpus Christi Thomas and David of Kilgore and other relatives.
