Marriage endurance story spans eight decades in 1905 Texas
Dave Wilson and Isabel Newman wed on January 14 in Hazleton under a Justice of the Peace. They honeymooned on their farm south of Hazleton and have since lived there, noting they travel little and maintain a simple life. The couple, now in their 80s and 90s, credit devotion and shared tastes for a 68 year marriage. They recall Harle Bros. mill, the Misery and Eternal Torment railroad, and days of wagon travel, with oxen hauling cotton and corn. The tale weaves through rural life, early automotive shocks, and a long partnership built on companionship.
