Gladewater Hospital Administrator Outlines Needs

Bill Wagner, administrator of Gladewater Municipal Hospital, told the Gladewater Kiwanis Club of the hospital history, current operations, and future needs. He noted a 1950 bond of 300000 funded additions raising value to over a million, 120 employees, and 50000 spent this year on specialized equipment. He warned the building lacks fireproofing, small rooms, inadequate air conditioning, and other issues, contributing to only a one year provisional state accreditation. The board is considering alternatives including a sprinkler system and potential new facilities, with plans moving forward.
