Glade man held in attack near Shady Grove
A 22 year old Gladewater man Joe John Stastny and two juveniles were arrested in Gladewater on charges connected to the assault on 66 year old Jennings Whitter at his barn in the Shady Grove community. Whitter was beaten and shot during an apparent robbery attempt and later underwent surgery in Tyler. Stastny was arraigned on attempted capital murder with a $50,000 bond. juveniles were arrested early Wednesday and remain in custody.
