Harold Inman McAfee dies longtime city secretary
Harold Inman McAfee known as Mac, longtime city secretary for over 30 years, died in a Gilmer nursing home after a long illness. Funeral held Thursday at First United Methodist Church with burial in Gladewater Memorial Park. He served from 1934 to 1940 and again from 1948, and served in World War II on Okinawa Iwo Jima and Guam. He was born October 31, 1907 in Corsicana and lived in Corsicana and Gladewater areas. He is survived by his wife Iris, four brothers and four sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces.
