Walker rites held Friday for Mrs Mary B Walker
Funeral service for Mrs. Mary B Walker was held Friday at 2 p.m. in Malcolm Stone Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Simmons officiating. Burial followed in Rock Springs Cemetery. She died at 83 after a long illness in Oak Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Corsicana and had lived in Gladewater since 1949. Survivors include six sons and four daughters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Calvin Burks 84 of Union Grove were conducted Friday at the First Baptist Church with Rev B F Risinger Jr officiating. Burial followed at Kilgore City Cemetery. He died Thursday morning after a brief illness. He was a Texaco retiree of 30 years and a church member. Survivors include widow Mary two sons Clayton C Burks and Elbert D Burks three brothers Ernest Louie Burks and Delbert Burks and three sisters Elnora Jackson Victoria Wright and Arizona Baker.
