St Mark’s Episcopal Church schedules a Christmas Eve vesper at 5 30 p m on Sunday with W Birt Sams as vicar delivering Holy Communion and a sermon marking the first midnight hour change. Camp Fire and Blue Bird leaders move January meeting to the ninth.
Gladewater receives 23657.38 from the state comptroller for the third quarter sales tax bringing the year total to 285351.09 since 1969. City Manager John R. Marshall notes 233 businesses collect the tax and the quarter shows a rise from 1971.
