Upshur County jurors will receive a four dollar to thirty dollar daily pay scale starting September 1 under a new law. County Judge Everett Dean urged a minimum of six dollars per day, while Commissioner Offie Nobles favored the smallest possible increase due to large panels and regular salaries for some jurors. The jury wheel was refreshed with names from voter rolls after a purge to remove nonparticipants.
