The Chamber of Commerce banquet is Friday night in the high school cafeteria with tickets available. Lloyd Matthews offers car washes Saturday for 1.50 to raise funds for the Bicentennial Fourth of July fireworks. Tuesday morning features another community activity.
President hopeful Governor George Wallace plans a stop at Gregg County airport Wednesday morning. Read details on page 6 about the visit and related local events such as Future Teachers of America and Future Homemakers gatherings at the high school.
White Oak State Bank completes a 1500 square foot addition bringing total space to 3000. Project cost reached 355000 with a larger lobby and four teller windows. Jim Heath serves as president with a named slate of directors and staff including Jim vhanley Don Cannon Susan Terry Ellen Carpenter and others.
Jim N Heath president of White Oak State Bank announces Donald J Cannon of Longview has become vice president and cashier. The Irving native with a business degree from North Texas State University has five years in banking. He and wife Patricia and their infant son Scott Michael live in Longview. He took the post April 1.

Gladewater School Board reelected John Shipp as president Virgil Wallace as vice president and Garth Cockerell as secretary treasurer. Wallace and Medro Barnes won two year terms in the April 4 vote. All teachers were rehired after an executive session. five resignations were accepted including high school art teacher Morgan who left for Schlitz Brewery.
Union Grove trustees hold a regular meeting reviewing Booster Club proposals and elect Ro ot. (Andy) Tuttle as president with Jesse Bailey vice president and Tommy Bynum secretary. The group adopts the 1975-76 calendar starting August 23 and ending May 27, with holidays and in service days.
Dr. Jerry M. Lewis of Timberlawn Foundation told Mental Health Association members that healthy supportive families rarely have severe mental health problems. He cautioned limits of his study to middleclass families and noted that poverty alters survival needs.
Kilgore Chamber of Commerce names attorney John W Ford 1975 Man of the Year at the 45th annual meeting held at the Community Tan Ford. Ford, a long-time partner of Mayor Bean, is noted for civic church and social involvement.
Gladewater Municipal Hospital board members meet in regular session Thursday night to hear an emergency room report. The agenda includes a dental staff application, discussion of fire insurance coverage, and approval or rejection of policies. They will consider purchasing obstetrics ward equipment including a delivery light a delivery table and labor beds. Last month the hospital approved a fetal heart monitor the first ever at GM. The medical staff minutes financial report and accounts payable will be reviewed. A seven o'clock dinner will be served before the meeting.
