Mrs. Virginia Bates and Mrs. Mary Nell Holt both assistant cashiers at The First State Bank will attend the Southwestern Regional Conference of the National Association of Bank Women Inc. in Oklahoma City April 13 to 15. New plant to build on Glade site
J Adam Laboratories of Alexandria Virginia will establish a plant in Gladewater. Lindyn Sims of Longview says construction begins within 60 days and full operation by mid July. The plant will produce liquid animal feed supplement with 25 thousand tons yearly capacity. About 15 workers will be employed, mainly truck drivers, and materials arrive by rail and truck.

Funeral services for Sam L Vernon 79 were held Wednesday at the North Main Church of Christ with Elmer Moore and Walter Talley officiating. Burial followed at Rock Springs Cemetery under Malcolm Stone Funeral Home. A WWI veteran and longtime Gladewater resident, he left a wife Amanda, two daughters Ruth Tyler and Nellie Hagius, two sons Carroll and Jordy, ten grandchildren, and four sisters.

Pallbearers were her grandsons. She was born in Illinois moved here at eight and belonged to the Methodist church.
