Gay Avenue Library presents three I act plays

The Gay Avenue School 12 50 library class directed by Mildred Bowden and Joyce Hodge staged three plays. Androcles and the Lion featured narrators Kassie Monden Patty Dunnavant and Claire Kennedy with a large cast. The Tumbling Clowns included Todd Lockwood Tony Larrison Tim Hart Ronnie Whitlock and Keith Covey as the clowns. The March of the New Year Months had narrators Susan Levy Patty Dunnavant Claire Kennedy and Virginia Ashcraft.

Gladewater Netters Beat Mineola 5-3 In Duel

Gladewater High School tennis, coached by Butch Clay, defeated Mineola 5-3. Don Mullins fell 5-8 in boys singles to Danny Campbell, while Trey Hugman won 8-3 over Gary Ellison and 8-5 over Barry Boyd. Hugman and Robert Ray won 8-4 in boys doubles, and in girls action Sharon Scurlock beat Cindy Ray 8-3 and Danna Guinn, with Gladewater losing 2-7 to Janet Wilson. Rhonda Thomas and Patti Ford won girls doubles over Janet Wilson and Kay Owens.
