Recorder Court Breaches Lead to Fines and Warnings
The Recorder court met this morning with cases including Jackson Howard fined for dis orderly conduct after drunkenness and cursing, forfeiting $5. Joe Brown also fined $5 for the same offense. Willie May Winable forfeited $5. David Small defaults on street tax and receives the legal limit. Pat Williams faces vagrancy charges with $10 or 30 days, now required to work. Henry Gardener charged with vagrancy forfeits $85.

Murder Suicide in Baltimore Family Tragedy
Albert Fielder a 45 year old milk dealer killed his wife Ida Fielder with five bullets then shot himself. The couple had been separated and had earlier disagreements over support for their five children. Their 11 year old daughter witnessed the event as neighbors rushed to help and found Ida’s clothing burning from the close range shot.

Death of Marinus Willet in Flat Rock
Marinus Willet, formerly of New York and long a South Carolina resident, died at his Flat Rock summer home on Monday September 30 from pneumonia. Funeral services were held at 11 o clock Thursday at the Church of St John in the Wilderness, Flat Rock, with Reverends W Memminger and L F Hindly officiating. A number of friends attended the tribute. He was in his sixty sixth year.
