Labor Agent Arrested Near Rock Hill
Labor agent Frank Allen arrested a man named Wylie Stewart of Ragland Alabama at Catawba junction on charges of enticing labor to other states. Stewart, using an alias, enticed about three hundred workers from Gib Green's farm near the Catawba river and had a railroad list on him. He appeared for preliminary hearing, bound over to the circuit court, but could not post $1,000 bond and was jailed at Yorkville awaiting trial.
