A cable message says Peking fell to revolutionists after a sharp fight, with officials fled by night. The Chinese Free Press notes unverified reports from Shanghai. Chinatown celebrates with parades, fireworks, and red republic flags.
Three Chinese gunboats joined Admiral Sah Cheng Ping’s fleet in Shanghai before heading to rebel forces. Telegraph operators strike, cables guarded by foreign marines. Sah possibly in hiding. Han Chow, capital of Klang province, captured by rebels after brief resistance. Population about 150 000.
Plans for a San Diego aviation showcase at the 1915 Panama California Exposition feature Col. Collier and aviator Glenn H. Curtiss. Curtiss will head aviation efforts, study coastal meteorology, and promote the $10,000 Panama to San Diego flight at opening of the canal.
NewYork Nov five Edmund D Fisher Deputy Comptroller of New York and director of the New York State branch of the National Citizens League argues amendments to the National Monetary Commission plan will provide credit for farmers needs. He lauds European reform and says the United States must lead in agriculture finance. He cites rising crop values and calls for a cooperative note discount system for farm use.
G T Richardson of Richardson's Mills Alabama reports a year long severe bronchial trouble in their child. Mrs. Zee Range McRee, jailed since September 21 for the shooting death of Allan Garland, was admitted to bail at 5,000 dollars after a jury deadlocked. She left the jail with her husband for home then plans to Texas with her spouse. A special December term for the second trial is anticipated.
Prof. J. F. Duggar argues in The Progressive Farmer that the fall season favors sowing an unusually large oats crop in the Cotton Belt as cotton fields ready for plowing earlier. He notes timely rains softening ground, high corn prices, a poor hay crop, and cotton price declines encouraging farmers to reduce cotton acreage in 1912.
Dr Butler argues in Progressive Farmer that soybeans can cut hog feeding costs. With hogs at six cents a pound, soybeans at two to two and a half dollars a bushel make a profitable feed, especially since Southern farmers yield 20 to 30 bushels per acre and hogs harvest the crop at no cost.
Farmers across the Illinois corn belt plan to use rotted corn as fuel this winter, aiming to recoup losses from heavy rainfall. The amount of corn left in fields is described as the largest in Illinois history, prompting a shift away from coal purchases.
The author argues that farmers achieving half a bale per acre are hindering the South by depressing cotton prices. Improvement comes from bale and a half per acre or more, plus diversification into corn and livestock. Progressive farmers prosper while backward methods keep families in want.

In Savannah on November 6 J H Gaynor, cousin of John S Gaynor released from Atlanta penitentiary for harbor frauds, was shot dead by convict guard Joe Davis near a saloon. Davis, drinking, fired without warning after a brief quarrel. one bullet struck Gaynor in the heart. Davis was arrested immediately. Gaynor, about 40, leaves a family.
