Spectacular School Pageant Delights Audiences At Evening Show

The auditorium stage presented sixty performers in Japanese style costumes as Miss Lilian Savage led as Princess Chrysanthe mum. Emma Sykes, Mary Daggett, Lewis Savage, David Riff, Altman and others received applause for their roles and the orchestra under B Gluck provided musical interludes. The Spartanburg Herald notes the overdraft remark as a separate aside.

Military Honor For Georgetonian

Capt Frank Parker United States cavalry has been awarded the Cuban Order of Military Merit by President Gomez for three years as instructor of the Cuban Rural Guard. Parker Receives Order of Merit for Cuban Rural Guard Work

President Gormez praised Capt Parker for his Cuba mission work. The Havana Post notes Parker, instructor of the Cuban Rural Guard since April 27, 1909, organized seven cavalry troops, a post, and a school training over 200 officers. He helped acquire 700 horses, ammunition, and full pack-train equipment, and translated official texts. Parker seeks permission to return to the United States after completing his tasks.
