Mr C R Shealy has left the Outlook. A turkey raffle near the Depot in Newtown hosted by G E McQuad promises a prize tonight.

First count cites a June 13 1907 scheme to obtain money from Dr. C F Springs Des Moines by selling white lead claimed to be made by Sears Roebuck. Second and third counts involve rings misrepresented through mail communications.

Hugh Wall a white man and two men of color are jailed in Hartwell Georgia charged with murdering John Norris on August 19. The crime surfaced when Wall learned from his wife she had seen it. Wall allegedly confessed and showed where Norris was buried after a gambling session at Norris's home. Will Hitchcock witnessed the killing Ernest Gray is named as a participant.
A man visits a neighboring town jewelry store to buy a clock. He learns the price is two dollars and negotiates with the jeweler, paying extra to cover express and money order fees. He finally realizes the mail order price plus charges matches his total, and the clock is left to be picked up in ten days.
A missing eight inch long casting from an automobile is reported lost on Front Street or Black River roads. A reward is offered at The Item office for its return.
