The Geneseo Republic reports its total copies printed for the year 1910 from January 7 to December 30. A Kewanee man released after three weeks instead of three months insists on finishing his sentence in jail. He was temporarily freed, but protested to stay for the full term to avoid bad company. He later attempted to enlist but was rejected and, aided by local authorities, was ordered back to jail for the remaining two months.

In a January 23 special election Kewanee adopted the commission form by a total vote of 1,736 with a 505 majority in favor, while Monmouth and Quincy voted against the change and Galesburg and Peoria are slated to vote soon on the issue.
