The Geneseo Republic publishes the 1910 circulation report begin ning January 7 and ending December 30. It lists total copies printed for the year 3,605 and notes the Notary Public certification date January 11, 1910.

Mothers Meeting at High School on Child Training Topic

A mothers meeting is set at the high school Friday afternoon February 10 at 3 o clock. The program includes music by the Boys Glee Club a recitation of poems by pupils of grades South Side and talks on character building and obedience by Mrs Farber Mrs Curley and Mrs Lieberknecht. Literature for mothers of boys will be distributed.

Robbery at Sherrard Bank Ends With Partial Loot

The Farmers Bank of Sherrard was robbed in the morning hours. Three blasts opened the vault as three men in professional style took over $100 in silver from the chest. A stolen horse was found near Milan after the crime, with $4,000 still in the currency safe untouched. Alarm spread from a hotel witness and the robbers fled before the currency charge could be activated.

Passing of Gen Henderson in Washington D C

Gen Henderson born 1824 Brownsville Tennessee moved to Illinois and served in the state legislature. He led the 112th Illinois Infantry as colonel and later brigadier general in the Civil War. He represented Henry County in Congress twenty years and was active on key committees. He died Sunday at his daughter’s home in Washington D C after a lingering illness survived by his widow and several children. Funeral held in Princeton after remains were brought there Tuesday.

Geneseo Illinois February 2 1911 the Board of Aldermen met to fill the Third ward vacancy caused by Fred Buell’s resignation. L R Harms was nominated and unanimously elected to the alderman seat by roll call and the meeting adjourned.

Former Henry County Man Goes to Panama

Walter Light a Galva native long employed by Purington Partek in Galesburg sailed for New York last week to embark for the Panama Canal Zone. He will take a fuel position on the canal with a $3000 annual salary plus transportation and living quarters. His wife Miss Mabel Wick, once a Hayes Pump stenographer, will likely join him in Panama later.

Passing of Mrs Stephen Velie Daughter of John Deere

Mrs Stephen H Velie a former Moline resident and daughter of John Deere founder of Deere Co died at the Velie family estate in Moline on January 26 from pernicious anemia. Born in Grand Detour Illinois on March 15 1839 she moved to Moline with her parents and lived there most of her life. She married Stephen H Velie in Moline on May 10 1860 and had five children four surviving: Charles D Velie of Minneapolis Stephen H Velie Jr of Sere Cirs Willard L Velie of Moline. Surviving relatives include Mrs Jen nette Chapman widow of the late Lathaen Chapman of Moline.

Frithiof Hansen 10 Dies After School Prank

A school prank caused a fatal injury to Frithiof Hansen aged 10 of Mo line. He suffered severe headaches after a shove at school two weeks earlier and died at 3 a m last Thursday. His mother noted a low mood and no doctor was called before his death.

Settlement Reached in $25,000 Case Over Telephone Co

George Gretsy of Propi etystown received $6,000 to settle a $25,000 suit against Central Union Telephone Co. The case, filed after a G&NW brakeman was injured on the Fox River division, was dismissed as part of the compromise. The trial had begun in Morrison last week.
