Changes in Constitution Discussed at Chardon Meeting

In Chardon a series of voter education meetings on the constitutional convention question continued. Attorney Tom Rowley led the session on Finance and Taxation with Q and A. Myra Pfenniger Rites Held in Ohio Funeral

Mrs. Myra Dodge Pfenniger 59 widow of Frank Pfenniger died March 6 after a stroke in a Cleveland hospital. Born in Cleveland, she lived most of her life in Geauga County and is survived by her mother, three daughters, a sister, and a son killed in World War II. Funeral services at Burr funeral home with Rev. Elmer Hostetler officiating. burial in Chardon cemetery.

Howard Brothers of Bainbridge Win Trophy at Columbus

Howard Brothers dairy herd in Bainbridge led Geauga County February production with 1440 pounds of milk and 53.9 pounds of butterfat per cow. Harold McNish of Middlefield second with 1490 pounds milk and 50.1 butterfat per cow. High butterfat cow was a Howard Bros Holstein at 109.3 pounds and 4.9 percent. top milk producer was Howard McNish Lester Yoder's Holstein at 2340 pounds with 3.3 percent.

Geauga Dairy Herd Improvement Association reported that the Howard Brothers herd of 36 Holsteins placed second in the state dairy herd improvement contest. County agent Leland Schuler announced the award made during State Farm Week at Columbus on Tuesday evening.

Geauga County Red Cross Drive Reaches Halfway Mark

Nearly half of the $9,000 1952 quota for Geauga County Chapter of the American Red Cross has been turned in at the chapter headquarters. Fund Chairman Mrs Richard Clause says about $5,000 remains and two thirds of the county has not yet reported. Newbury led, with Mrs Philip Gelzer as chairman.

Burton Rolling Gros venor Hull of Burton is one of two Ohio University seniors chosen for a regular Air Force appointment upon June graduation. Only 234 of about 7,150 ROTC graduates this June earned commissions from 2,000 Distinguished Military Students across 187 colleges.
